About me: Janoš Rush Vranek
I live, study and work in west Wales and have a passion for landscape and political photography.
Having been born in north London, my continued links there have encouraged an interest in urban architecture and street photography, as well.
The camera, for me, is an expressive tool: to capture the way I feel about the atmosphere of a place, or event, or the personality of a person. My pursuit is to convey the, often neglected, beauty in the world.
I also feel the need to document the struggle and injustices in the world today. In particular, the environmental destruction caused by the impact of modern western living. Highlighted by an interest in ecological, political and social issues.
"I went into photography because it seemed like the perfect vehicle for commenting on the madness of today's existence." Robert Mapplethorpe.
